Goethe Zertifikat A1-C2

The perfect place for a quiet 'read-aloud warm up' is, of course, just outside the Goethe Institut.

2022 was yet another very successful year for the Goethe Zertifikat tutees I had the pleasure and privilege to work with.

Well done, everyone!

"Sönke is a great teacher! He was very helpful and easy to get on with. Before hiring him I had hit a plateau and was lacking direction and motivation. From the start he was interested in making sure the lessons were suited the best for me, what I needed to improve on the most, how we learnt, the type of homework etc. He brought exactly what I needed, structure and enthusiasm. Therefore, I was always looking forward to the next lesson. Sönke definitely renewed my love for the language and made learning German enjoyable again. I never looked back on a lesson and thought "I didn't really accomplish anything today". He was always challenging and pushing me to get better. In particular he helped me improve my speaking ability and confidence tremendously. Thanks to him I passed my Goethe Zertifikat exam and I am already thinking about take the next one!"

Keenan (young adult learner)

"Sönke managed to fit me in for a few months in the run up to my Goethe C1 exam. When I first started, I had never taken a German exam was just hoping that he would help me pass. In the end, he helped lead me to achieve 100% in speaking and over 90% in writing and listening. Most importantly though, I have gained a confidence and trust in my German that I will enjoy taking with me into later life.

I was thoroughly impressed by his quality, experience, and humor! I could not recommend him enough and wish I could go back to the beginning and do it all again :)"

Sam (young adult learner)

"The Goethe-Institut's German language examinations correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and range from A1 for beginners to C2 for language skills at the highest level."
